Low Tide

A one-night music video for Baltic Records — the band plays the song front to back in a harbour warehouse while the tide comes in around the building.

One location, one evening, no second takes of the full performance. We rehearsed camera moves for a day, then shot the song eleven times as the water rose outside the roller doors. The released cut is take nine, played in full.

16mm for the wide locked-off frames, digital handheld for everything close. The grade stays cold until the final chorus, when the doors open and the first daylight hits the smoke. It passed a million views in its first month without a single paid placement.
